One Belt One Road: How Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation is getting up to speed with new initiatives

For immediate release – All eyes are turning east with the developments about China’s One Belt, One Road initiatives, with promise of the new business opportunities and investments. As the leading metro operator in the region, MTR Corporation is poised to be an early beneficiary of the initiatives. But what are the strategies and plans in development? How can other rail operators follow the footsteps of MTR Corporation monetize these golden opportunities?

Opening the plenary session of the 19th Annual Asia Pacific Rail 2017 on 21st March, Mr Lincoln Leong, Chief Executive Officer, MTR Corporation will sharing the key factors contributing to the operator’s success on the international stage in a Keynote Interview and Rail Leaders Panel. Dr Jacob Kam, Managing Director – Operations & Mainland Business, MTR Corporation will also be sharing about its expansion plans for the future and into Mainland China and the Global market on the morning of Day 2.

Mr Yi Min, Chief Advisor China Business, MTR Corporation will also sharing about the One Belt One Road Initiatives and how they are getting up to speed with the new projects to monetize these opportunities. Through this keynote, rail operators can also learn how they can better prepare to be a share of golden opportunities. Key stakeholders like Khun Voravuth Mala, Deputy Governor of Administration, State Railway of Thailand and Ms Aye Aye Hla, Advisor, Planning and International Relations (Land Transport), Union Minister Office, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Myanmar will also join Mr Yi Min on an OBOR panel to discuss about the challenges and developments on this global project uniting over 60 countries.

They will be joined by over 120+ speakers speaking across 4 Theatres covering strategic and technical case studies on New Technologies & Metro Projects, Signalling & Communications, Mainline & Rail Freight, Intermodality and Power, Rolling Stock, Asset Management, Passenger Experience, Rail Financing & Funding, Light Rail and Rail Safety and more.
